eco-symbols update 1
February 6, 2008
Tidying up some loose ends.
Thanks to Dan, who’s very promptly sent me the free logos he promised. One with the Earth: An idea on time.
Energy Star – more International partnerships and another logo. Energy Star: Leading energy efficiency across the Atlantic.
Indian Ecomark – a second official source for information. Indian Ecomark – Economical, even with the symbol.
And I’ve identified some other things to find out. So, a work in progress entry, as I don’t intend to forget about the ones I’ve already looked at.
This entry updates parts of the Infomancy Eco-Symbols Series.
Indian Ecomark – Economical, even with the symbol
December 12, 2007
The Ecomark Scheme of India was launched in 1991 by the Government of India.
Of all the environmental labelling scheme logos I’ve seen yet – and there are plenty more to come – this clay pot is one of the simplest, certainly easier than most to remember or draw by hand.
One small Chang’e for China, one large Change for the World
October 25, 2007
China launched its first Moon orbiter yesterday, and it’s now moving towards a stable orbit, as is its Japanese counterpart, with the Indians to follow in early 2008.
The Chang’e-1, named after the Chinese goddess who flew to the Moon, cost surprisingly little, looks like a great deal for the Chinese, and will surely mark an interesting period of space exploration and exploitation.
